A downloadable game

A forest dreams in 8-bit

You wake in a place older than logic and stranger than myth.
Light filters through fractal leaves.
A paddle hums beneath the soil.
Arkanoid is blooming. Lemmings have fallen.
Ghosts wait to be eaten.

This is a text adventure.
But not like you remember.
Or maybe exactly like you remember -
if you remember it from somewhere deeper.

Written in BASIC and machine code for the C64 and Amstrad CPC.
In C for MS-DOS.
No parser libraries. No modern frameworks.
Just memory, moss, and myth, woven into 40/80 columns.

Solve puzzles. Eat ghosts. Free the Architect.

The Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64 versions start in a Deep Forest. The MS-DOS version doesn't seem to work. When I ran it under DOSBox, the opening screen and first few moves looked like this:

Any ideas?

Holy shit. I uploaded the EXE from the wrong working directory. Please try it again now :-)

And thank you for pointing that out!

That fixed it. Thanks for the fast response. It was lucky that I noticed it early before too many people downloaded it.

It looks like an interesting text adventure. I added it to my new video with other recently released games. I hope you like it.

Thank you for playing and presenting it!

As a kid I really liked text adventures. They looked like magical interactive books to me.

I must try this out ;)

Have fun!
They still are magical interactive books. :-)
